At UMED, students have opportunities to assume responsibility for their education in a collegial and academically challenging atmosphere. Through direct exposure and through the infusion of medical subject matter in their various courses, UMED students learn and explore several areas within the healthcare industry: patient care, technology, research, and the treatment of various illnesses and injuries. In addition, the students can obtain hands-on experience in the UMED patient care lab with a 3-D Anatomage Table for virtual dissection and in-depth organ and skeletal system study; practice on manikins with realistic features for simulated treatments such as vaccinations and utilize cutting edge technology to experience medical scenario simulations and collaborations.
